NEC is your go-to resource for professional development webinars to elevate your TRIO program. With over 60 years of combined experience in TRIO, Elizabeth "Lisa" Retamozo and Mary Meeks will guide your Project staff through a series of live webinar sessions to promote program effectiveness.

Presenters will be Elizabeth "Lisa" Retamozo and Mary Meeks.


Mary Meeks has more than 30 years of experience working in Higher Ed; 29 years in TRIO. Mary served 25 years as Director of the Veterans Upward Bound Program at East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma. She has served as President of the National Association of Veterans Upward Bound Programs, the Southwest Association of Student Assistance Programs, and of the Oklahoma Division of Student Assistance Programs.  

 

Mary retired from East Central University and is currently providing training and consulting services through Mary Meeks Consulting LLC.  










Lisa has 30 years of experience implementing, managing, supervising, and evaluating federal (TRIO) and state-funded educational and career opportunity programs serving low-income and potential first-generation college students.


In 2003, Lisa started her own consulting company, NOSOTROS Education Center. Since then, Lisa and the NEC team have provided TRIO Projects nationwide with short/long-term technical assistance, new project implementation, project evaluation; assistance with annual performance reporting, database customization/training; compliance assessments, in-service training, and professional development seminars; development of policies and procedures manuals, proposal writing, and technical review services.


Lisa received her Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Texas at Austin and her Masters in Business Administration from Texas Woman’s University.


Please note that this is a professional development seminar and an allowable cost. 

§645.40: What are allowable costs? The cost principles that apply to the Upward Bound Program are in 2 CFR part 200, subpart E. Allowable costs include the following if they are reasonably related to the objectives of the project: (a) In-service training of project staff.
